What does Thomas Clipper City smell like?

Inspiration & Structure

Describing a scent is notoriously difficult, so we'll start with the inspiration for the fragrance. For the initiated, we've also included a fragrance pyramid below.

City is quietly confident. It’s a fougere - which are a group of scents originally designed for French royalty in the 17th century to evoke nature. Today it generally means a fresh, green scent with a decent hit of lavender. What Thomas Clipper has done with City is to make it all a bit sexier by anchoring the lavender and grassy aromatic notes with warm wood and spices.

Fragrance Pyramid

Top: Pink Pepper Oil, Nutmeg Oil, Lemon Oil, Ginger Oil, Mandarin Oil

Heart: Lavender Absolute, Fresh Aromatic Notes

Bottom: Cedarwood Oil, Tonka Bean Resinoid, Musks, Vetiver Oil, Indonesian Patchouli Oil

Blending Notes

City is made to blend with Coast and Country, as well as Mountain the newest addition to the range. Apply a spray of Country to bring out the fragrance's complex masculine depth. Or add texture and interest to the top notes with a spray of Coast.

In the video below Nick Carvell explores how this blending works and what to expect from the many combinations out there.
